Rules
Rules of the game
Number one, the operator is always right.
Number two, when the operator is not right, see rule number one.
#translate is a help channel, but also for chatting and having fun. So, have fun while helping and entertain yourself as much as you can.
Everyone should follow these rules. Ops, trial ops or guests.
So, here they are…
1. All languages from our !languages command are allowed to be spoken in the channel, either while helping the guests, or just chatting with friends.
2. It is recommended to refrain from chatting in any language while someone is being assisted in the channel. It will bother the translator, and an op has the right to ban you out. Remember that nobody gets paid for this “job” of helping people with a translation from different languages.
3. (Especially for members): Try your best to make sure that the channel does not remain idle for too much time. That simply means you should greet new people and make conversations with them, so that they will feel comfortable and eventually come back some other time. We want them to stay around and learn, not to see a “dead” or useless channel, and then leave it. If you spend more time idling than talking in the channel, then perhaps you shouldn’t be surprised if your access will be removed for a long inactivity.
4. We expect everyone to be nice and treat others with respect. Each and every operator can kick or ban someone who is trying to disrupt the atmosphere of the channel.
5. Using excessive caps, colours, bold, underline etc. is not tolerated. We find them as being annoying and if you were warned, and you didn’t respect the warning, your action will lead to a channel ban.
6. Note that we *DO NOT* make any kind of homework, and also don’t translate documents, large text files, or words considered as being ‘bad’.
7. We don’t cooperate with ANY other translation/language learning channel, until a further notice and we don’t recommend any. We only recommend channels like #zt, #nastrand, #dmsetup #cservice #usernames #userguide #report-abuse #ajutor #ayuda or #beginner
8. Do not abuse the bot that is practically, our translation tool and everything there. Flooding him (executing commands very fast or translate over and over again) will lead to a warning or a ban.
9. Do not use crappy /ame or /amsg if you’re not +v/+o in the channel. We don’t allow mp3 announcements, channel advertising or website spam (from case to case, some of the links you post on the channel will not be considered as spam and you won’t be banned). No rubish talk! Sexual related issues will be discussed on sexual related channels. Not here.
10. Do not ask for general help from our ops. If they work in a reop channel, join that reop channel. If they work in a general help channel, ask in that channel. Simple as that. Do not try to drag attention from them, or disturb them in any case. The punishment will lead to a ban
*It is possible to be added new rules from time to time. Any good suggestions related to our rules are always welcome.
